★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am on the plus size so a bridesmaids dress alterations was always going to be a bit tricky. I remember clearly saying at the time what I thought needed done, but I am not the professional. to be sure,I did mention that there was a spare dress that we could use for extra material if needed. They seemed confident and the spare dress was not brought up again.
When I picked my dress up and tried it on I knew that it was not right.
I asked my mother who used to sew to take a look. Upon doing so, discovered that they had cut into the dress in such a careless way that when they put it back together, to fix their mistakes had caused the bodice to pucker significantly. In reality the dress was too tight and they should have discussed this with me as professionals and acknowledged that the additional fabric should be used.
The craftsmanship on the dress was so bad that we decided to take the dress back, not to have a confrontation but to give them a chance to look at it and just discuss their work.
This is the reason for this review, I had no intentions of writing a poor review going into that store but as soon as my mum and I walked into Top Cut Tailors the defences were on and there was absolutely no responsibility taken for any of the work done by them, lots of blame was shifted onto essentially my weight problem for being the cause of their poor workmanship, at one point they even accused my Mum of cutting the dress that badly and claimed it was not them. Having a fat butt does not excuse bad work nor does it give you the right to treat my mum, or any customer the way you did. The only offer of rectification you gave was a not so friendly offer for us to leave the dress so you could sew it back up, not really an enticing offer.

Really appreciate their help. For such an express service, we paid so little too! Guess, I am just used to Auckland prices!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fast and efficient. The staff are warm and friendly and I cant believe how the prices are so reasonable. Went there last year for hemming my clothes and went back again this year. Will continue my services there. Really hard to find good clothing alterations where the pricing is so reasonable. That's why with the warm friendly staff and service. It's a 5 star from me. ?????
