POWDERCOAT
Powdercoating is a process where powdered resin is applied and baked onto the aluminium surface. The application method causes a chemical reaction which results in a high-quality durable finish able to withstand external environments. Powdercoating also gives you a range of colours to choose from to match the design and aesthetics of your home.
Powdercoating is more durable than a standard liquid paint finish and reduces rick of scratches, chips, corrosion & fading as it is more resistant to impact, moisture, chemicals and UV light. The warranty period for powdercoated finish on aluminium windows start at 10 years.
FINISH TEXTURE
You may notice that some of the colours are named with 'Matt' in front, this refers to the texture of the powdercoat finish. Most of the powdercoat range is now only available in Matt or Mannex as these finishes were more popular than Satin. Below is a summary of the different textures.
- Matt finish is more scratch resistant and easier to care for, making it the most popular finish choice for both the production team and the customer.
- Kinetic colours have a shimmer or pearlescent finish
- Satin colours have a more glossy or shiny finish, however are less commonly used as they tend to scratch, show marks and fingerprints more and are harder to clean.
- Mannex finish is specifically designed for use on entrance doors, as it has a textured look finish which is more durable and assists with hiding surface marks. Mannex is also more resistant to scuffing and easier to clean
POWDERCOAT RANGE
All colours are available in both Duralloy and Duratec range. The Duralloy range is most commonly used and sufficient for most residential projects. Duratec is more suited to projects in a coastal or harsh environment, read more below on the differences between the two ranges.
