About Trade Tested
Trade Tested is here to make your backyard great. 100% NZ owned and operated, we’ve grown to be New Zealand’s top online home improvement store. Combining new technology and good old fashioned Kiwi customer service, we don’t have a chain of giant shops, or a million staff, so our prices can’t be beaten.
It all began in 2001 when we started importing to a small garage in central Auckland, selling on what was then a little site called Trade Me. As Kiwis got more used to buying things online, we got more used to selling them. After several years of being one of the most popular businesses on Trade Me, we decided to start a website. Just for us.
So after a few sleepless nights and lots of coffee, TradeTested.co.nz launched on the 10th of July, 2010. Our goal – deliver Kiwis the best deal on everything for their backyards straight to their front door. And since then we have been doing just that.
From the humble water blaster in Ponsonby to the giant farm shelter for an orchard in Cromwell, no matter how big your backyard is we’ve got you covered. Last year alone we are proud to have delivered to over 100,000 satisfied customers all around the country and now have over 23,000 product reviews.

Very efficient service. The team members carried the table to my car for me. The Trade Tested General Manager emailed me directly, a couple of weeks after purchasing, to check in to see if I had any issues with the table but it is perfect and exactly what I was looking for. I have no complaints at all and appreciate the team for providing excellent customer service and making the process easy. ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I bought the 1.8m workbench for my home office desk as it has features that make it more useful than the commercial equivalents – tying power leads and supplies to the horizontal rail and off the floor is one example, able to adjust the height easily another.
The bench is everything I expected & my 15-YO enjoyed doing the assembling. My wife was surprised at the attractive finish to the surface.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We ordered 3 of those Planters and two look like shown in pictures, sorry but that's rubbish quality, there are so huge gabs. We are very unsatisfied with this product. We tried to contact Trade Tested since over 1 month but I think they ignore us, still heared nothing back... So thats why we have to leave this bad review. Customer Service should be there for their customers, now we have planters, Summer is almost over and we can't use it and lost a lot of $$ :(

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have purchased several times and had no problems and the products were as described, so have been a happy camper. However my last purchase of the netball hoop left us hugely disappointed. This product was due to arrive on 23 Dec so we purchased this for our daughters’ Christmas present. However on Christmas eve we haven’t heard anything and were left scrambling to buy something else. We later we received an email saying this has been delayed to 7th Jan. We finally received this in the last week of January. THEN, when we were assembling the set, 2 pieces of poles wouldn’t fit - it looked like a factory defect where there was a slight dent/indentation that caused them not to fit ?. My emails to them re this issue and another item we were expecting in the same shipment that was missing went ignored. It is now 12 days since that email. We will have to try today to use a hammer or something to try to fix that netball hoop ?.
It’s a shame that the customer service is so poor. The website and products are generally great. We purchased earlier the trellis kit and loved it. There needs to be an improvement in the post sale and customer service

Perfect product enabling me to rid myself of the old fashioned wire post line and plant a native tree in the hole. I can put it up when I want and it stores easily so it is perfect to remove an unsightly old garden icon with this unit. Great price also.

I wanted to share with you why I bought my Mighty Cart. I have been a paraplegic for 21 years since a work accident in 2000. I can do a lot more for myself than a lot of people would think but being in a wheelchair makes most things more difficult. One of those things was getting into my boat while at home to do things so I made this deck out of some old doors and stuff I had lying around. As I was building it, I realised it would be useful for other things if I could move it easily. While researching options to move the deck I came across trolleys like this which I had never seen before and then your Mighty Carts. See attached photos. Your service was great, and I had it in a couple of days and was able to assemble it myself. I added some fold able legs to the deck so I can sit it high enough to slide trolley under easily. The Mighty Cart makes the deck relatively easy to move, and I have since painted my garage window which the deck allowed me to reach easily. This week I have painted my fences. I was able to load everything needed on the trolley and push it along the fence as I painted. The Cart was just the right height for my bucket of paint. I am even able to push on the handle from behind and steer it when necessary. I found it a bit of a mission to pull it across the lawn and back to the shed so the next time I got my wife Larisa who is totally blind and her guide dog Helen to take it to where I needed it and she found it very user friendly. I’m guessing not the feedback you were expecting but I feel it is important to share things like this. Knowing this may help you help someone else solve a problem. I am sure my Mighty Cart will make other future jobs easier for me too.
