About Trevelyan's Pack & Cool
Trevelyan’s is a packhouse and coolstore operation at 310 No 1 Road, Te Puke. We are the largest single-site kiwifruit packing operation in New Zealand. Five export packhouses and 38 state-of-the-art coolstores spread over 20ha provide efficiency and ease of management across all our daily operations.
Established in 1971, we are a privately-owned company. Trevelyan’s employs about 170 permanent staff and about an extra 1,650 seasonal staff between March and June each year. We are very proud of the people who contribute to the success of our business. Strong partnerships with growers, staff, customers, our local community and other business partners are valued and invested in. Growers are welcome to visit our site at any time of the year, and staff are always about to answer any questions they may have.
We are a successful, hard-working and trustworthy packhouse and cool storage company.
We provide quality growing, picking, packing, cool storage and technical support for the kiwifruit and avocado industries. These deliver consistently competitive OGRs per hectare to our growers, and we enjoy doing it!
We do this in state-of-the-art facilities, through innovative systems with an experienced team. With a strong focus on quality and sustainability, we are making a difference and doing well by doing good. We have a static storage capacity of 11 million trays plus an extensive canopy area to cure fruit in optimal conditions. We plan to further develop our 20ha site, including additional production capacity and coolstores as our business grows. We have trialled a low humidity tent over grader two. This enables us to maximise the capacity of our current graders before installing the next one.

All things considered, it was a pretty great place - the overseers were strict but fair and pretty nice once you got to know them, and even though the work was very boring and stressful, the atmosphere was good.
The break area was also very beautiful. Sitting outside next to all those goldfish ponds was always very nice.
I also stayed at Trevelyan's working hostel, which was a great place. Much better (and cheaper) than Te Puke's regular Backpackers.
I was honestly sad to leave once June was over.
