β β β β β Sonja is a photographer that will make you feel so at ease on your day. She is incredibly approachable and helpful, Prior to our wedding she was happy to Skype and email us to answer any questions (and we had many!) that we had. I'm someone who is incredibly awkward when it comes to having pictures taken but Sonja is just such a calming presence, her way of taking photos is unobtrusive so you feel so at ease in front of the camera. Sonja went above and beyond to capture everything and everyone at our wedding, In fact, we have a picture with every single one of guests and that is no easy feat!
The icing on the cake was the many pictures Sonja was able to capture of me and my family with my handsome boy...my dog Milo.
If you're looking for a photographer who is professional, understands you as a couple, answers the million emails you send them, has an eye for great locations and candid shots, I couldn't recommend Sonja enough. We just got our pictures back and they are stunning. My husband and I couldn't be happier!!

β β β β β We had such a wonderful experience with Sonja and her assistant. Sonja's photography style really gelled with the relaxed and natural vibe we were after and made her an obvious choice. She was extremely helpful leading up to the big day and was flexible to a number of changes we needed to make along the way, even on the day itself. She was also a great personality to share our day with and we really enjoyed shooting with her as she made everything light and easy. We are so happy with the final product, so many beautiful memories even though we chose a shorter package, and they arrived well before we were expecting as well! Thanks so much Sonja.

β β β β β Sonja is absolutely amazing! Such a genuine person with the most amazing talent to capture beautiful candid moments!
On our wedding day (31.10.20) she blended in seamlessly with our family and friends and everyone loved how unobtrusive she was.
Both my husband and I are in love with the photos! It rained the whole day but Sonja's enthusiasm energised us to enjoy the romantic rainy day photos.
Sonja was also so accommodating with all our wedding date changes due to covid-19 and travelled all the way from Waiheke island to capture our special day. Even when the reception venue changed to be further away then we had originally planned she was still happy to come down, and we are so grateful to her for all the travel she did! ?
10/10 recommend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!++
you only have to look at her portfolio to fall in love with her beautiful shots!

β β β β β Sonja and her team were so professional in capturing so many memories on our wedding day - from first contact with her over Skype to the photography on our wedding day, to delivery of all our photos. We would highly recommend her to anyone and everyone. Sonja and her team made us feel extremely comfortable in front of the camera, unobtrusive as they guided us through the day. Sonja took the time to understand what our priorities were, and she was very flexible in her approach. It was so important having someone local to Waiheke Island as we are based overseas and didnβt have the opportunity to visit the venue with Sonja before the wedding, Sonja already knew our venue back to front and knew the best photo spots for different parts of the day, different weather etc. We have so many favourite photos to choose from. Thanks for making our choice so hard! ?

β β β β β Sonja was an amazing photographer, we couldnβt have asked for a more calm, chill and super nice person to do our photography for our wedding day, such a pleasure to work with! Sonja scoped out the venue before the big day and was super flexible with any changes made at the last minute. She kept us comfy with being in front of the camera and nothing was too hard for her! β β β β β Sonja was brilliant! Her lovely personality helped us relax and enjoy our day, and the quality of her photos were gorgeous. She was also excellent in the lead-up and planning - happy to talk at length about our plans for the day, logistics, and shoot locations, so we were all ready to go. Because Sonja is more of a 'lifestyle' photographer, the photos came out lovely and natural - just make sure to say if you would like some posed photos (i.e. with certain people). We eloped, so only had a few people there, but totally forgot about getting any posed photos with our small group! I'm sure in a bigger wedding it would be hard to overlook. Whoops! :-) Highly recommend Sonja at Trilby and Lace!!
