★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As a local welder fabricator I frequent metal recycling centres on the 8th of March 2021 I went to sell a ute load of scrap upon my arrival I probably started unloading the UTE onto the scales and was told that it would not be weighed instead he would guess how much it weighed and was told to unload it into a big metal scrap bin I went to the window with my ID expecting a receipt and I was given mere pennies for my ute load of scrap and no receipt when questioned about the lack of receipt and the extreme low figure I was told to pull my scrap out of the bin again and take it back with me if I was not happy with the price and the way things are run things got heated and I gave up the argument considered the point and just left and said that I would call the boss and sort it out the next day I was followed out of the yard by a male who worked there and threatened with him punching and kicking the side of the ute myself and my worker front Lee left and headed towards town again while waiting at an intersection in town I noticed the workers vehicle behind me he got out of his vehicle while we waited in traffic and continue to threaten and punch the side window of my ute causing us to divert around traffic and head towards the police station he repeatedly tried to cut us off and ram the vehicle off the road we managed to escape and headed to the police station where I made a formal complaint all of which wood was captured on my cell phone camera I would not recommend Trillo metals in Blenheim instead as a small business owner I now stockpile my steel and take it through to Christchurch myself I've added a photo of the offenders vehicle which was also passed on to police along with the videos of the incident
