Amazing Udon! The place itself is quite small so good luck with getting a table.

So good! Love the cold udon on these hot humid Auckland days! So light and balanced compared with ramen. The udon noodles themselves were so fresh. It was like we were back in Japan.

Had the sashimi platter, tempura udon and their special of the day sanma fish udon. The sashimi was pretty nice, $18 for 14 pieces of different choices. Our favourite was the kingfish. Their tempura was nicely fried and gives a good crunch. The best was the sanma fish. The sauce and the texture of the fish was excellent, will definitely come back for this as it was above expectations. I wish the udon broth was hotter in temperature, even though the menu said warm, but personally I enjoy hot noodles. Overall very nice meal, seatings was a bit cramped as it is a small shop but there were many people waiting outside. Serving speed was fast, but would be better service if they tend to water refill more.

Not a big restaurant so if you haven’t booked you may have to wait but its worth it. The ingredients are fresh and the udon is chewy and a little hard which I liked but my friend preferred a more slippery udon. The service is friendly. The salmon sashimi tasted amazing. Presentation is excellent.

We came by for lunch since we were hankering for some good food. My friend had already been here so recommended it and I had always wanted to go since hearing about them. The place is quite small so get in early or you might need to wait for a table. The lady in the front was really nice and quite efficient with menus and water. You had options of hot or cold udon or one of their special ones. They also had dons (rice) if you weren't feeling like noodles. Most items were under $20. We grabbed some edamame, agedashi tofu and karaage chicken to start off and I tried the squid ink udon (ikasumi). the presentation was quite surprising, particularly for the udon. The flavours were also really delicious. I really enjoyed the udon as well as the tofu. I was expecting the udon to be made from squid ink but it looks like it is just the sauce. It had a nice flavour and was quite creamy. The squid tempura that came with it was so crispy and tender. I would definitely want to come back to try the other udons available. I did hear that it gets busy at night and they don't take bookings so lunches might be the way to go.

OMG fell in love with this place instantly becoz they serve the best udon. Their Miso Udon is amazing with tofu salad on the side. Will definitely bring more friends here some time soon. Presentation was top Must be early though as they don't take bookings in advance. Thank you Udon Works for giving us a great first time experience at your place. We need more places with simple yet flavour filled noodles selection like yours. ?
