About Valo Photo & Cinema
Our approach
Valo is made up of Rohan and Laura, a couple based in Auckland. We love simple things, such as camping in our van (preferably somewhere without reception), good food, wine, great movies and documentaries, and minimalistic lifestyle in general. We’re easy-going and don’t take life too seriously.
To us, our wedding photography and wedding videography work is about finding beauty in the ordinary little moments and crafting stories that reflect the personalities of our couples and their wedding day. Looking around our portfolio, you can see we focus heavily on real, genuine moments that are often captured without the people even realising they were being photographed or filmed. We put a lot of emphasis on beautiful framing and skilful timing, that captures these moments artistically and interestingly. Our aim is not just to tell your story but do it with creativity and elegance.

โ โ โ โ โ We used Valo Photo and Cinema for our wedding. We found Laura and Rohan to be hard working, personable and professional during the day. We really enjoyed having them around. We received a sneak peek the next day and knew that we had made a great decision hiring them. There was a lot of communication and the end results were perfect. We are in love with our video and photos. The video has the best content, background music and voice over and just purely set out perfectly. The photos are plentiful, very professional and well done. Cant recommend these two more.

They have captured the most special moments of our life that we gonna cherish forever. There aren't enough words to describe how amazingly Valo has captured each picture of our Maternity shoot. They have an artistic eye and have a magical way of finding the perfect angle, lighting and expressions. I am so glad with my final pictures that I am gonna use their services in future too and would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to capture the best moments of their lives. โ โ โ โ โ Laura photographed our wedding out in the middle of no where. She was so easy to work with from start to finish and gave us many helpful tips for optimal photos. She was great during the portrait photos, by guiding us thoughtfully and making the process feel natural. I loved her candid shots of the day and the artistic shots of the venue. When looking for photographers the Valo portfolio had me looking forward to how they would be for our wedding, but they really exceeded my expectations. Some of my favourite photos of the day were things that I would have never have thought to take photos of but, with a great photographer I now have some very special photos of our very special day. Definitely would recommend to everyone!

โ โ โ โ โ Valo Photo & Cinema did both our wedding photography and wedding video in March this year. Laura and Rohan were so easy to work with and a breath of fresh air. I cannot stress enough how amazing they were throughout the entire process - from our enquiry, meetings, emails and especially on our most important day. They were extremely professional, friendly, creative and it felt like we had known them for years. Their work really speaks for itself too, they are exceptionally talented at what they do and my husband and I are so grateful to have such gorgeous photos and memories because of them! They truly went above and beyond for our wedding. Five Stars!

โ โ โ โ โ We chose Valo to film for our civil ceremony at castaways and are so so soooooo happy with our wedding film! Itโs absolutely beautiful and emotional! Everytime we watch it it brings out all sorts of happy memories from the day! Rohan has a great eye for creative visuals and captured everything so beautifully. Even the music for the film is absolutely perfect! Me and my partner are sooooo obsessed with our film and cant wait to share with family and friends!

โ โ โ โ โ We engaged Laura to be the photographer for our wedding in January. As a couple, you want someone who you can feel comfortable with and someone who is technically brilliant. Laura is both. She has a very unassuming and gentle personality and we felt very at-ease having her capture our special day - even the intimate bits. But she is a very sharp shooter too. She captured every aspect of our day flawlessly with incredible detail and composition in her shots. Our family and friends are honestly blown away by how good the preview shots were and so are we. Laura also added a lot of value in the planning stages after our initial meeting, making recommendations for potential shots to incorporate into the event run sheet. Laura has a very big future ahead of her. Five stars. Thank you.
