Great university but doesnt cater to my needs of expertise. Only go there if you are doing big time subjects like music law accounting business commerce and other subjects that are related to that. But yeah definitely not the best university compared to Massey or Canterbury

I began studying Linguistics and Japanese here in 2016, but had to leave at the end of my first year due to family circumstances. The time I spent at this university was short but I learned a lot of interesting things and made some great memories. I spent many an afternoon in the LLC browsing through the Japanese books or just working on assignments. My main complaint is the cafeteria food; it wasn't bad (in my opinion, at least) but it was extremely overpriced.

Great University with a lot of diversity. I had a great experience and I learned a lot from amazing professors with outstanding backgrounds with a lot of accomplishment and résumés. Proud to say that this university deserves his great reputation. A lot of services offered if help is needed. Students from all over the world come here to study. Getting a degree from this university means open door for success for most of the alumni. Overall, I received a great education in this top-rated New Zealand University.

I recommend Victoria University for those who are interested to make a career in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. They have really good courses in this domain. Also, they are offering a good number of scholarships in this category.

I had expressed my interest to complete my masters programme in VUW in 2020. However, borders were closed and I was encouraged to pursue one of the modules online in 2021 before completing it in person (2022-2023). I was constantly let down by the poor standards of communication from various departments of the school. Worst of all, the recommended module sabotaged my eligibility to receive a full time student visa. I could not continue pursuing my masters at a school that conveniently uses pandemic as an excuse to organise my studies poorly. All staff of VUW should be trained to communicate more punctually, stop pushing responsibilities around and get their work done. I paid for a “world class education” with my savings, time and emotions and what I received felt like lip service.

I started my law degree here. The location, campus layout and views were stunning. The library and gym were absolutely ace ? However, particularly in the law faculty, nobody was particularly likeable. The staff were an absolute displeasure to be associated with. The law lectures were absolutely pretentious. It felt like the whole faculty took itself far too seriously. The student culture too was painfully “woke”. There was some liberal, feminist magazine which I remember placing in the bin at any chance I got. I’m not finishing my degree at a different university; the difference is night and day. Amazing, friendly staff. A truly non-toxic environment. Something that Vic should strive for.

Ah, my alma mater. One of the oldest and most prestigious tertiary institutions in New Zealand. Feels great to return to VUW for a brief visit. I even bumped into Assoc. Prof. Jonathan Newton when I took a stroll at Kelburn Campus. We struck up a conversation, and he recommended that I should take a look at the university library. Oh my, much has changed ever since I graduated.
