★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had an evening reservation at the restaurant. Following in convoy, we didnt see the sign until turning down drive. Gravel road up and around to restaurant. Arrived and it was a lovely, inviting, warm atmosphere. There is an outdoor area, but due to weather we were all cosied up inside. We were seated near fire with lookout to outdoor entertainment area. Staff dressed professionally. Main meals were all very tasty as general consensus from our party. (One entree missed but found we didnt need it. Extra dessert arrived). Desserts were mixed reviews. Would i go back? For sure!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best steak dinner I have ever had anywhere in the world. This restaurant was an amazing find as we are not that often up in Hunua. Having gone out to view a house and land property we thought about dinner and saw Vin Alto on line close by and rang to see if they were open what with so few people dining out currently because of covid and yes, Ana the manager said they were open. It was a very quite evening so Ana was both the maitre de and waitress, she is perfect, what a beautiful personality and efficient lady. The menu is not huge but covers the different foods required more than adequately. We spoilt our selves and had a starter, main and sweet with wine and coffee, boy were we impressed. Every thing ordered was perfect especially in taste, quality and the presentation was immaculate, Paul the chef is a real find, very very good. His usage of herbs, spices etc. is exceptional very more than adequate quantities of everything, not like so many restaurants where the sauces, juices are pitiful, Paul's are plentiful.
Thank you Ana and Paul for a beautiful evening and incredible meal and experience, we will be back often.

The new owners have given a modern feel to the restaurant with a fresh painting and the menu is second to none. The staff are very attentive and super friendly. Hayley really knows her stuff and can be proud of owning a high class establishment. We will return to enjoy more of the faultless food choices. Oysters are fat and creamy, pork belly delicious and salmon tasty. I want to try and recreate the yummy broccoli side dish. Thanks for an awesome evening and your hospitality Hayley and team.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We visited Vin Alto in July 2021. We were the only diners so would like to return when there are people there for a bit of atmosphere. I will say that it was really cold inside and all the windows were open. I was glad to have a shawl.
We had the oysters - fresh and delicious. For the mains we had the duck and venison. Both dishes were really good - the flavour combinations were perfect. Unfortunately we had to drive there so just had the one glass of wine ?. For desert we had a crumble. The serving size was large and perfect to share. Overall a good experience and left us wanting to revisit.
