I found the owner of this shop very over powering & it’s not the most conducive environment to leisurely look for an item.
I was constantly followed being shown clothes I had no interest in buying.
Under pressure, I purchased a sale item thinking there was an additional 40% off, which the cryptic sign suggested, only to be told unprofessionally “in your dreams” when I questioned this.
On returning home & away from the pressured environment, I decided the item would be better in another size. I returned to store less than 48 hours later (tags still attached, original packaging with receipt).
I was completely taken back to be rudely told a firm “no” for an exchange of sizes as she couldn’t remove it from her “page”
A Facebook page where editing a size would of been a simple task?
I felt attacked when I questioned her as I thought to ‘swap a size’ was a reasonable request.
No apology offered and no mention of her exchange policy on my receipt or was I verbally informed of this when purchasing.
Reading other reviews I am not surprised other people share my views. I had been warned about her pressured selling.
Never ever will I set foot in this shop again to be treated so rudely.
There are other boutique shops in Christchurch which are a pleasure to shop at with helpful friendly staff who go above & beyond to keep the customer happy.

Vivacious is not your typical clothing store where you do all the work this is the place to go for a real personal shopper experience. You give the staff a general gist of what your looking for and they run their behinds off getting it for you.
If you want to update your look and don't know where to start this is the place to go. But if you want to browse and be ignored by staff then stick to mall shopping.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 'Vivacious' been in Halswell 19 yrs & always had fantastic feedback from clientele. Owner & staff very honest about suitability & choices being made by client. There's always several options to choose from (plus accompanying bags, scarves, fascinators) dependent on the purpose. My friend delighted with her wedding outfit - hard to choose between 3, all of which were equally beautiful and suitable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We went into this store to browse for up coming events. We were shown some lovely clothes but when we told the owner that we would come back another day, we were rudely told that the dresses would not be there and they would have nothing else to show us. We were also told that we shouldn't be out browsing for clothes, we should only be shopping if we intend to buy something.
Would love to go back to see clothes but it's unlikely due to the unprofessional nature of the owner.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had a great exerience and I don't even like shopping much! I walked in, was warmly welcomed and then explained the event I was seeking a dress for. They had some additional practical tips for me to consider (it was an awards event so they suggested the dress length and style suit getting in and out of my seat and climbing up on stage). After a brief discussion on my budget and preferences, the first dress they produced from out the back was 100% perfect for my build and colouring and within budget. I was very impressed and will definitely be back!
