To paint an accurate picture of just how great Michelle was to deal with, it makes sense to tell you what the most important considerations were for us, when we were choosing a Wedding Planner/co-ordinator for our wedding. 1)We live in Australia and got married on Waiheke Island, NZ - so having suppliers that understood that and could effectively work with us in a different country/time zone was a must, because it means you likely need that little bit more support and guidance as you try to plan your wedding from a distance; 2)Having suppliers that were relaxed and chilled to deal with was also important for us, because it can be a stressful time planning a wedding, let alone planning from a different country. Having a relaxed, professional wedding planner was a critically important consideration for us. More specifically, someone who was relaxed because of their professionalism, experience and preparation, as opposed to being unfazed about our big day. Michelle was an invaluable asset for us, because we were effectively planning a destination wedding from another country, with guests attending from Europe, Australia & NZ. It’s worth noting that we had an amazing wedding. From start to finish, everything more or less went to plan and there wasn’t a single issue that came close to derailing our big day. A lot of our guests raved about the day and a significant reason for our successful wedding day was Michelle. Being a local who lives on the island herself, she pretty much knows everyone we worked with anyway, which made her even more effective. We didn’t use Michelle’s full suite of services, because we picked our own venue, band, photographers etc, but we more so engaged her services to act as the key ‘go-to’ person on the day for all of our suppliers from the Media Team, to the sound people and the Florist. Michelle was across everything from the get-go and we really didn’t have to do anything on the day but enjoy ourselves. Michelle also assisted with some of our planning, helping with accommodation bookings, wedding day itineraries and logistical insights (i.e. where to have the wishing well or how to break up speeches to maximise enjoyment) which was all invaluable. We had a few Skype meetings over weekends, which was challenging for her given the 5 hour time zone difference – but Michelle was completely flexible and made herself entirely available whenever we needed to work with her. Her experience in planning weddings of all sizes was obvious from the outset and we would not hesitate in recommending her services to anyone intending to get married on Waiheke Island. The reason we enjoyed ourselves so much was because Michelle was across everything and handled any minor issue that popped up on the day). If you’re getting married on Waiheke Island, but don’t live there – you need some Michelle in your life! Michelle is a wedding angel. We had the best wedding day (ever!). The overall wedding experience from day 1 meeting her, all the way up until our wedding day was superb. The success of the day has a lot to do her input, advice and support. Michelle connected us with the best suppliers who all provided us with a great service (our guests are still talking about it). She also has a wonderful style and demeanor which means a stress-free and hassle-free experience for the bride and groom. We got in contact with Michelle three months before our Waiheke island wedding during the lockdown with no styling, design or florals booked and feeling very stressed about how we could pull things together in a short amount of time. Little did we know that Michelle was our wedding angel in disguise. She came through with the most beautiful design brief and booked top vendors on Waiheke island within days of our first phone call to create our dream wedding. With all the uncertainty that comes with lockdown and ever changing rules, she remained supportive and positive throughout and took care of everything (including last minute changes hours before the wedding!) From the beginning of our wedding journey to the very end of our wedding night Michelle’s professionalism, vibrant personality, positive attitude, expertise and amazing abilities to plan, style and ensure smooth running of the day really made our day stress free and seamless so we could enjoy every moment of it with our family and friends.
