★ ★ ★ ★ ★ To our surprise we found that there was a skate park in Waihi... We were not impressed. The problem (which no one has mentioned) is that It's unskatetable. The concrete is very rough, and has deteriorated. The once smooth finish has worn off, and small stones from the builders mix are exposed, sections of the concrete have risen and fallen, so it is uneven, and large chips out of the concrete are spotted all over the place. Hence it's not really a skate park at all. I thinks its too small for a mountain bike, perhaps it would ok for a BMX? Without maintenance it has become merely a relic of what once was...
