Waikato Counselling provides counselling services in Hamilton, New Zealand. Thank you for visiting our website. Now a little about who we are and how we counsel.
Phil: Married to Kristina we have a blended family of eight adult children with three mokopuna (grandchildren) which has provided us with a rich experience in parenting! My past experience in counselling has involved working in family violence – both victims and perpetrators. Moving on from this I have had experience counselling people whose lives have been affected by problem gambling, addictions and mental health. From here I went into part-time work, counselling at a community-based agency outside of Hamilton. From 2018 I have divided my time between working in this agency and Waikato Counselling.
I love counselling and appreciate the courage people have to share a part of their lives with me. Thanks again for visiting and I look forward to meeting you.

Kristina: Phil and I have lived together in Hamilton for twelve years. During this time I have worked as family support worker and financial mentor for a faith-based social work agency supporting a wide range of families in our Hamilton communities. My way of working in relationship with people grew over the years. In addition to this I gained valuable experience from working alongside social workers and this inspired me to train as a counsellor.
I graduated with a Bachelor in Counselling – Paetahi Tumu Korero – in 2018. Since then I have gained valuable experience in counselling people experiencing issues in life, both individuals and couples. Like Phil I love counselling and feel privileged to hear people’s stories, each one different and unique.
For the past few years I have worked full time dividing my time between working alongside Phil in the same community-based agency and Waikato Counselling.
