★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Shocking that they have huge areas where rubbish & recycling is not done. Yet it is just around the corner. Im speechless

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ WDC were too quick to grant a MSW consent to a local coalmine after years of fines for illegal dumping of tyres and other rubbish not covered by consent. Even illegally shut a section of public road at request of Coalmine owner. It was admitted in environmental court. No cooperation in this topic.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The biggest thanks to our council for attending to the sinking road side out side of Queen Street property. It was dealt to and all upper Queen street Road users are now conscious of why they had to take wide births while passing cars parked outside on the kerbside. Also for the signage addressing our ever growing 'freedom campers'. this has not stopped but has slowed down the numbers. I look forward to the work yet to be completed on Pukeiahua and hope the weed contracters have enforced safer measures for the use of chemicals around the public as well as themselves. Cheers Ngaruawahia District Council.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been in on two different occasions now trying to figure out concents and permits for property's I'm looking to buy and both times I have had the best service. I wish I had got the names of the two women I dealt with because they were amazing and went out of their way to help me out. I have worked in customer service for 9 years so I know what good service looks like and these ladies were fantastic. Well done to the team there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I started email conversations with Carole Nutt 17/05/2022 we swapped approximately 30 emails regarding who would be liable for the damage caused to our property by a blocked pipe outside of our boundary in an empty plot not far from a manhole. Ace plumbing in Huntly advised because of its placement we would not be liable for the invoice it would be covered by WDC as per usual practice.
(Also, after speaking to people at the call center, I was advised that damage to property caused by blockages outside of the property boundary were in most cases covered by WDC such as damaged Carpets, Invoices etc.)
WDC Sent an WDC inspector in who advised the retailing wall pole had damaged the pipe and although the offending pipe was not on our property the invoice would not be covered by WDC.
I asked if the retaining wall below our property had been approved by council. would they not have taken the surrounding plumbing/ infrastructure into account when doing this? And because of this fact why was I liable for consent that they had given 12 years prior to me purchasing the property? I received the below snippets in response.
•Early aerial photos imply the walls on the boundaries were built prior to the house being built on XXXXXXXXX The building consent for XXXXXXXXXXXX does mention a retaining wall at the time of building the house but Council believes the design provided was for a wall to support the slope above house and does not relate to the walls on the boundary at the bottom of the section.
•We cannot identify who built those walls and at what time other than they were there before the house was built. While it is unfortunate that the pipe has been damaged, we do not believe it is reasonable to expect Waikato District Council to meet the cost. Our Trade waste and Wastewater Bylaw also implies the service connection is the responsibility of the owner up to the point of connection at the manhole.
(I then responded that I have a Lim that specifies the retaining walls design? and position? At the bottom of property and that it was all signed off by WDC to be built at the same time as the house which is contradictory to everything that Carole Nutt has advised of?)
The response I have received after this from Carole is that she will no longer communicate with me and if I had further concern to contact feedback and complaints. Which has made me feel like the LIM I have is not worth the paper it is written on.
Carole Nutt has been combative/rude the entire way through hoping that I would be respond back aggressively so she would no longer have to interact with me. This makes me sad as I wonder how many people, she has been able to block contact with due to this unscrupulous tactic..
I am extremely disappointed with Carole’s conduct. It is clear through our emails that no matter who’s liable she will ensure that I will end up having to pay the invoice which is dishonest considering the evidence I provided. I will now pay the $2,000+ Invoice although I feel from correspondence with Carole this is an incident that should be covered by WDC.
I will use my rate payments which I have never missed to pay for the invoice. Hopefully when it comes time for the rates to be paid in full and we revisit this event, the stress caused the fact that we were without working plumbing for a combined 3 days and 4 nights our home flooded twice and our e-mail communications will be considered in rectifying the situation.
