This is a local park in Outer Kaiti Gisborne. Many sporting events happen here at Waikirikiri Domain, this playground is in high use from locals near by and tamariki of the community, along with many adult sporting teams and visitors to the area. Downfall to this playground is most of the child are not supervised appropriately while there and the use of language your children may be exposed to. Young children need an elder person to assist them while playing meaning hands on, as alot of the equipment is suited for children of high physical and mental capability to be able to use the playground to its fullest. Children must wear shoes at all times as this playground has a bark surface with hidden things slightly buried. Equipment is of great quality and strong, well maintained by the local council. slightly lit up during the night by the street lights. Great parking space. Waikirikiri Domain is used alot by regional schooling sports groups including out of district sports teams during tournaments throughout all 4 seasons of the year, ranging from region rugby tournaments during winter, to touch-rugby region tournaments during summer also softball and many other sporting and outdoor activities, there is a full court for basketball also. This park also holds many community gatherings throughout the year ranging to church sermons and celebrations, to community concerts and fundraisers, message outreach programs and school holiday events? some issues with this park is the toilets seem to be locked all the time, there is no water station, dogs are always present and alot of the children are not supervised most times. Other then that this park is awesome, alot of positive sporting and community events happen here? Hope you enjoy your visit to our local park, please respect it while there as it is a gem to the area.

Nice playground, pretty new. Good climbing equipment for older kids but not much for young kids. There is a slide but young kids will have a hard time getting to the top of it without help. There are a few swings including a toddler swing. There was a dog roaming around and I found a couple pieces of broken glass in the bark. Otherwise nice playground.
