And for a traveller like me, the perfect thing, a 30 min free computer and Internet access with USB and SD cards readers.
And of course a large choice of books and nice couch to read them.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very user friendly, wheelchair access, customer toilets, both unisex, Friendly helpful staff, can stay as long as you like. Dvd's to hire for $3-4 a week. Plenty of cosy seating "living rooms". :-)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Friendly helpful people that can help you when you need help. I personally made a friend here. They also have other activities for the kids. Also a JP come in every Wednesday between 11am-2pm

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The staffs are either very helpful or ‘take your ticket, use your computer and don’t bother about me’ kind, so really depends on who you speaking to. Generally ok to get some admins stuffs done. $0.20 per page for printing, wifi and computer access available.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Oamaru Community Library is just that - a community of like-minded people willing and able to promote, not only books, but local events.
Local authors, like Janet Frame are featured. Staff are more than happy to help locate areas of interest and pass you on to other staff members, admitting when they have limited knowledge.
The Head Librarian always has a smile to offer and remembers previously held conversations and helpful information, or an amusing story.
Computers are freely available, or tablets are offered to complete business. Though it would be advantageous to have coliur printing available
