★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you are an enrolled patient at this establishment, I cannot recommend seeking an alternative provider of medical services highly enough. If you are considering seeking medical advice and assistance in Christchurch, this is emphatically not the place to find it. The irritability and belligerence of the staff (receptionists and doctors) is matched only by their soaring and wilful incompetence. Unfortunately, I spent over a decade engaging with these charlatans and maniacs. I've now moved to St Albans Medical, which is an inverse universe of competence, professionality, understanding, and common decency. It's refreshing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Only giving these guys one star as Google doesn’t have a 0 star option. Rude receptionists and very questionable doctors.
I was waiting 20 minutes after my appointment slot had ended and still had not been seen. Told the receptionist I would have to leave to go to work and was told I should not expect my appointment to be at the time I booked it for and I would be charged a no-show fee. I didn’t no-show, I was waiting for 40 minutes because they can’t manage their time.
I primarily saw Dr. Glen, who I cannot recommended anyone with mental health concerns seeing. I had already 2 years prior been diagnosed with anxiety and depression, but within 5 minutes of meeting me Dr. Glen decided I can’t have anxiety because I worked in retail. I’d love to hear why he thinks he’s more qualified to make this call in 5 minutes then my previous GP, psychologist and 2 counsellors. Definitely should not be handling any mental health patients. He also told me if I “insist on being vegetarian” (his words) I should get a blood test to check for iron deficiency. Apart from being very rude and dismissive, this shows he does NOT listen to his patients as I had already told him I do have low iron, have since years before I became vegetarian, and am taking supplements for it. Never going back here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I live out of town but still come to this practice, Dr Glen is a great doctor, you may have to wait a bit to be seen but it will be because the Doctors give each patient the time they need instead of wanting to get you out the door.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We lasted a day with this doctors surgery before re-enrolling with our previous doctor. A really unpleasant experience with the receptionists unfortunately. This is the first negative review I've ever given on Google and I'll usually only write them when I'm pleased but feel people need to be warned about this place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I initially enrolled with the intention of finding a GP that had experience with patients similar to myself, not a specialist, simply with relevant experience, and was told that the only one usually ran a little behind.
"A little behind" was a little bit of false advertising, I never ended up meeting this doctor, but every time I was asked who my GP was by medical professionals within Christchurch I was met with laughter because his reputation for being extremely late with every patient is so well known.
The GP I did see suggested filing an ACC report from a surgical misadventure prior to moving to Christchurch less than 12 months ago, when it came time for her to fill out her section of this report she refused.
I also experienced unacceptable simply mistakes from admin staff, for me, having my prescription sent to the wrong pharmacy was the final straw.
I was enrolled at Waltham Medical Center for roughly 6 months and will not be returning nor encouraging anyone else to enroll.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I want to personally thank all the staff at reception and the nurses and my doctor who when i attended last week for an appointment picked up before i could sit down that i was not a well person and they took every care to check on me before i was taken to hospital. A big thanks to you all and i never realized how sick i was until i got into hospital and started treatment. Top medical centre for me. By the way they had me covid tested a couple days before entry. Thankfully negative.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There can be a wait, they are often quite busy and tend to "fit you in" rather than turning you away. The quality of treatment is good, the receptionists are friendly, the doctors are professional and sympathetic, and the nurses are kind. There's even a pharmacy on site.
