Lounge bar although throng was very relaxed and comfortable. Meal ordering very straight forward.
Food was great with good healthy portions before you add your hot vegetables or salad choices.
While next door, the Sports Bar sounded full and very cheerful.
A great evening out with Fire and Emergency NZ 's Whanganui Operational Support team. So thank you to the busy team at Wanganui East Club.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a well set up Club that incorporates a restaurant, bars and games rooms. We had dinner there last night with the grandkids.. There was a choice of menus; kids menu. Desserts, entrees mains and snacks/ light meals. I had a light meal because I had a big lunch. Imagine my surprise when my seafood platter arrived and it was bigger than
a main in most cafes. The food was lovely with a nice tartare sauce and delicious fries. I had a Heineken to go with it. After I finished, (just!) I sat with the kids and chatted while my wife and daughter finished their lambshanks and the grandkids went out to play on the playground just outside the door. I decided to have a sundae for dessert. I asked for mixed flavours, which the staff agreed to.. I got two spoons and my wife and I enjoyed it. Ice cream with heaps of sauce.the ladies really enjoyed their lambshanks, beautifully cooked, with vegetables . They, too, had huge meals and seemed to love them. I had a wee taste of my wife's meat and it was perfect.
I would go here again anytime. The other facilities at the club are great. Well worth going there, but be hungry!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's great. Sad they aren't doing the smorgasbord as this is perfect for families who are struggling or larger families like one of our lad's family of 6. They're not coming along now which saddens us as Grandparents. Otherwise I would have given a 5? because the meals are nice with plenty on the plate.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a beer. First of day. Flat and terrible. When mentioned would not replace it. Next time had scotch from worlds biggest under pour. Mentioned it. they continued to pour 3 more with same item and did nothing. So unless you really make a scene don't expect anything to be fixed if not happy
