Warkworth School is one of a handful of split-site schools in New Zealand. It comprises a Junior/Teina campus, with learners from Years 1 - 3, and a Senior/Tuakana campus, with learners from Years 4 - 6. Each campus has unique features tailored to the developmental and learning needs of those year levels.
About Warkworth Primary School
Samantha Lane, designer, commented:
“Encircling the logo is a stylised kowhai flower and leaves. Kowhai flowers are a recognisable icon of the area and a notable feature above Te Awa WaiheΜ | Mahurangi River. The graceful components of the flower represent our connection with nature, growth, blossoming, and the life force of the school.
The sweeping line of the kowhai flower curves around to flowing koru shapes - a visual reference to Te Awa WaiheΜ | Mahuranig River, whose flowing waters are of great significance to our local community and history.
The two koru represent the two campuses of one school, which are intertwined and flow together on their journey. The koru shape is symbolic of an unfurling fern frond and, in keeping with the symbolism of growth in the kowhai flower sitting above it, is associated with the learning journey and personal growth of the students.”

β β β β β My son was diagnosed with Autism, we got him enrolled and two days later we had a meeting with the school and both of my children started school the next day. My son worked with teacher aid (1 on 1) and I am for sure the funding is not yet ready but the school have plans ready for enrolled students with special needs. I always have the feeling that my son is in safe hands when he was in school coz the care for special need students is the best. Teacher aids are the best, my son works with Cecilia and settled in school so well. My daughter did not able to go to school coz of gum infection and I am a working mom, Donna who works at the school, extend a helping hand from school to take my daughter to the dentist...The staff are so nice and kind. Thank you Warkworth school team. I am proud of all you. Warkworth school is the best. We moved out from Warkworth and It is a bit of a shame that the school we are enrolling our son at, will let my son wait for weeks...
