★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I Had booked a skip bin for Wednesday(27/11) to Friday and the bin didn't arrive untill 4:45pm on Wednesday. I rung the 0800 no. but it had such a long wait, no one answered the call for 20-30 minutes then I had to head to the waste management office at around mid day, but the staff their was least concerned and didn't help much. I called again at 3 pm and after 40 minutes someone answered the call and tried to get hold of the driver but failed to do so even then. I had an extra labor hired for that day to help me with the rubbish as I had planned to return to Auckland on Wednesday night, So I had to pay the guy for 4 hours and stay another day. I still had to pay for the full day of bin hire. Very very unhappy with the Waste management team up in Gisborne

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After Christmas I took all our recycling there: bottles, cans, presents packaging, and general household stuff that can build up really quickly with a houseful of whanau. There were so many other whanau doing the same thing, there was a queue on the stairs and cars parked everywhere. Anyway, I accidentally dropped my good quality (expensive) shearing scissors into the cardboard cage. When I told a staff member, she had another Kaimahi pull the cage out and help me sift thru everything to find it (sooo happy when we did!). They didn't have to do that, esp when they were pumping hard on that day, but they're willingness to help me was so gratefully appreciated. Thank you ladies!!
