★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wenji BBQ looks like just another low-rent suburban takeaway. And it is. But it makes fantastic Sichuan food!
We ordered takeways. They didn't come with rice, but the serves are big enough to feed 4 (if you add your own rice), so great value for $15-$18 each.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I just spent $13 on fish and chip combo #3, ate half! and was absolutely full. This is 'the' most value for money, decent quality takeaway in Auckland 100% (Current menu attached other photos were old / they don't offer those combos anymore)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very unassuming venue... only went here because its close to work and had very high A plus food hygiene rating and was busy at the time... what a good choice! I had the best salt and pepper prawns since going to awarding winning golden century in Sydney and the crispy pork / duck is off the hook. They hang it, behind glass and it offers traditional Chinese, very good! They have a craft in an nz back street row of take away shops... we all have one nearby.
I love beautiful locations / experiences, I also love good well made food... what this lacks in location, it blows the top off the fact that it is just good food and worth the visit!

Usually mapo tofu should be made with pork mince, but this shop’s one was heaps of frozen vegetables (green peas, carrots, corn kernels), and only bit of pork mince… I thought it’s a big joke??
But roast duck was really nice.
