β β β β β The tour was such an amazing and insightful peak into the intricate and detailed workflows of creating movie/production ready props and wearables, especially the lord of the rings!

β β β β β Cool in depth look into how the movie production goes. But I enjoyed the unleashed experience better than the Wellington workshop

β β β β β A must visit place in Welly and if you are Lord of the Rings fan. They just bring you around their studio, you can have a look at the props and understand what's going on !
I would say it's worth the money. Oh one thing you aren't allowed to take photos inside but they have a place where you can take photos
Plus they have this amazing guy who made props from tin foil ! Beat that

β β β β β One of the best places to geek out!! If you are into the movie lores or just love figurines, you can easily spend the whole day just in the shop to admire everything on display.
The tour was great too. Very informational about what they have done. The best of all is that the tour guide is a huge geek as well and you can tell that they are so immersed in the stories and movies as well.
Highly recommended.

β β β β β Had the tour fully reserved in 2019 pre-COVID and was amazed at all the display items many with minute details as if 3D-printed. There were a lot of different weapons, set pieces and props used in their collaboration with film studios. They even discussed the potential career choices at the end of the tour as well as software requirements etc. Highly recommend visiting for tourists and film buffs, but during the weekdays for less crowded tours.

β β β β β Had a great day at Weta Workshop. A really fun experience for those that love the films or just fascinated about the process. Shoutout to Luke for the tour, really informative and equally entertaining. Props for the suggestion to hit up The Larder just up the road for the best pies in Wellington.
P.S. If you get Luke as a tour guide, ask him to demonstrate the foil sculpting in the first leg of the tour ;)
