★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have stayed many times here with our 3 young kids.Its a classic kiwi country pub and we always get a friendly welcome. The kids love the food and sitting on the big sofas watching a movie while we relax and eat a yummy meal. The rooms are clean and comfy and this morning our kids got their own breakfast in the breakfast room! Our kids like to play at the school playground over the road which today my husband has taken them to try the bike track as well as the cool climbing wall that you climb along not up while i relax. I recommend breaking long journeys here or popping here for a weekend break and going to the museum , pool, train ride in the park or some shopping in Palmerston North. I dont own an electric vehicle yet but this would be a perfect place to charge up your car in a secure car park while overnighting or having a meal.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As we were staying in Palmerston North at an Airbnb, we decided to call into the White Horse for a drink. The first night was quite noisy - with other work workers having a great time. We would happily go back - though may choose a different time/date.

Impeccably clean but still has the down to earth genuine feeling of a good old country pub that are quickly becoming a thing of the past. I encourage everyone to support these kind of places to keep alive our heritage and the things that have helped make this country great!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ When I was invited to go for a beer here, my response was, I obviously have more self respect for myself then you. Decided to drop my standards and try out a new experience. As you can guess when driving into Longburn, you can expect to find a different breed of human crawling the streets. Arrived at the pub and after walking in found a very upper-class Bar with great service, great company, and of course great beer.
