★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What an awesome unmolested piece of NZ railway history. If you like anything to do with the old NZR then this place is a must see. Sitting on the side of the South Island main trunk line you may be lucky enough for a goods train to pass by or even the Dunedin Railways Tairei Gorge excursion on its way to Middlemarch.
