β β β β β Great spot for waking the dogs with lots of shade and water spots for cooling down! Bring some proper shoes, make sure you have a lead and then you are good to go!

β β β β β currently all access roads are blocked and no walking/running is allowed. Tree climbing and mountain biking is great. However there is no access to beach anymore and you can't walk anywhere in the forrest

β β β β β The trails are awesome, good for the beginners and expert, for me, it is one of the best in auckland region, you can also rent a bike and parking is not a problem, friendly staff too.

β β β β β The extensive area now known as Woodhill Forest is an important part of the cultural landscape of NgΔti WhΔtua o Kaipara. Many ancestral names (like Te KΔti, Kuwakatai, Waionui, Korekore and Εkiritoto) were used for different areas and features, but the land became generally known as Woodhill when it passed into Crown ownership to be developed as forest.
Today, the land under the forest is privately owned and managed by NgΔ Maunga Whakahii o Kaipara after a 2013 Treaty of Waitangi settlement.

β β β β β What an awesome place . take the motorway from the city and head out, follow the gravel roads and you end up in a carpark with a 4x4track heading down to the beach. the sand is soft so high 4wheeldrives can ho down to the beach. Its off the beaten track, great surf when the swell is small. No toilets available.. love it
