Just moved in and everyone has been very accommodating and helpful, which is very important to me as an international student with no clue where to go or what I'm doing! Haha

Never book through Victoria University Accommodation Office! First of all, I would like to focus on the one really positive thing- The staff! Throughout the front desk to the night guard, everyone is extremely nice. They make an effort, but of course they can not change the hard factors of the building and a bad concept from Victoria University. Students that book through Victoria University are really gutted here. You pay $ 330 a week for one room in a four bed room apartment. 222 itself takes just $ 275 for the exact same room. What Victoria does for $ 55 per week is more than questionable. I asked at the Victoria Accommodation Office about it and they were sure, that they don’t make any profit with it. Since they rent out minimum 100 rooms for 42 weeks a year, the calculation is pretty simple: $ 231.000 + Discount for renting three floors for a whole year - additional expenses for organizing students to live there. If the position β€žadditional expenses for organizingβ€œ are eating up all the revenues, you should really think about efficiency. Comparatively for all international students- You get a really good room for $ 230-280 in a shared flat next door. On arrival you can not expect a clean status quo. For that is also Victoria responsible and not 222. When you move out, you got threatened by Victoria University Accommodation, that they keep your $ 639 deposit, if you are not cleaning the apartment perfectly. Looks like they invested the accumulated deposit of my predecessor definitely in cleaning:-D The Internet is an impertinence. You pay $ 36 per month, what makes $ 144 per flat and you have exactly two available devices to log in. Every washing costs you as well $ 6. The worst thing is, that it is cold. The heaters have an internal installed time switch, which turns them of within an hour. With single glazing windows the temperature is similar to the outside within a few hours. I guess you can’t expect a warm place for $ 330 a week. In conclusion, you will get an acceptable place, which will be dirty when you arrive. It will be cold in the winter. You will have bad internet connection with just two devices and you pay way more than everywhere else.

Really nice, secure and modern place. Staff are always really nice. Somewhat pricey, but you get what you pay for. WiFi isn't the best, but understandable for a building with over 100 people. Great especially for first year students who are making the transfer to independence.

Son loves it for his Massey Halls of Residence, close to Wellington's Massey Campus, close to inner city within easy walk
