Lovely old building used as accommodation by weary travellers on their 6 day journey from Nelson to Christchurch and now the area still being enjoyed by present day travellers wanting to get into the high country. However, I was deeply concerned about the state of the area. Even though there are signs of some wildling pine spraying....DOC seems to have lost the battle. If the government and iwi want to be responsible for conservation then they should be using the money for keeping land like this clean!!!!
