★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Little nugget of history at this point, with its own private bay too. Glad they preserved the house to honour the family, whose descendants never returned to live on Stewart island.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely stunning destination. Bit of a steep walk from town but only in a few places. If you drive or cycle it will be a breeze.
So worth a visit, I recommend walking or cycling as there are so many photo opportunities on the way that you will miss in a car.
