★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After delays we were very disappointed when our furniture arrived due to lots of damage. Our dining room table was not delivered at all due to the legs being smashed off we were not advised of this until the unpackers arrived. The damage occurred due to very poor packing into the container from the Hamilton Branch lots of scratches & gouges to wooden furniture & dents in the fridge/freezer. The Dunedin branch were very helpful & we could see that care had been taken in loading the truck for arrival it's a pity the same care had not been taken in Hamilton. It took the joy out of our excitement in moving in to our new home.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am disgusted with my experience with the Hamilton Movers. EVERYTHING is either scratched , dented, or chipped. I asked for international packing and was told I would not need it. Yeah right! I had two containers and I had to leave stuff behind because it wouldn't fit and then when it arrived there was someone else's stuff in my container. Allied didn't want to know. Would NEVER use these guys again. I didnt contact Hamilton because I contacted the head office and the guys told me I legally have 14 days to complain. Your reviews say it all. In 20 years of constantly moving I have never had one thing broken until I employed you. And your response is pathetic.

We shifted from Waikato to Invercargill: 2 container loads of furniture, a car and 2 cats. At every moment of the process they communicated with us extremely well. A stressful shift was made easier.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The people we dealt with were polite and friendly so cannot fault them for that. But the communication was awful; our shipment didn't make it to port on time, which wasn't communicated to us until I phoned the day before our estimated delivery date to check that it would be arriving the following day as expected. In the end it took just under 4 weeks to arrive from the north island to the top of the south island. The reason given for not making it to port and also for not communicating this to us was 'covid'. I'll leave it up to you to decide whether this is good enough from what is apparently the biggest removals firm in the world. Also there will be an insurance claim being made due to a few breakages. Honestly, my advice would be to use a removals firm that goes by road and ferry, rather than by cargo ship, based on our experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am so disappointed that I didn't read the reviews before booking my move. The Hamilton branch were appalling. Cartons not labelled or they used recycled boxes so no idea what goes where. Antique mahogany buffet was dropped and clawfoot broken. The packers were unprofessional, the customer service non-existent. Items have been scratched or damaged, some items are lost. There were no lifting or transporting aides so literally furniture was being carried by one person. TV's were not wrapped or boxed, it just goes on. I have emailed the national managers concerned and they clearly see no issue which speaks to the culture of this company. There is no accountability and zero customer service. I was informed that I would receive a call before the day of packing and moving, never heard from anyone. I chased two times and still heard nothing. On the day they arrived late as they had another job, well it's hardly late I said as I didn't know what time to expect you in the first place. They left items unpacked in the old house and I took photo's of what wasn't packed and received an email saying 'that's not a lot'. Clearly there is an acceptable amount of property than can be left.
I was told that there was more than was quoted for, well I can assure you no furniture was hidden or brought in, so complete joke when it came to assessing the shift. For god sake do yourself a favour and don't use this company.

Nothing was too much trouble including a big workbench that my husband made for his workshop which weighed a ton lol. We would highly recommend them to our friends and family.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Allied Pickford's Hamilton branch did an awesome job moving our furniture from storage to our new home. The 3 guys turned up on time and were professional and good humored. There were no damages and they placed everything exactly where I told them. They even managed to lift a 3 seater couch over a 2nd storey balcony as there was no other way to get it in the house. Customer service was good, no hidden costs etc. Thanks guys, would highly recommend.
