About us
Harakeke Creations/Amy P is made up of two very passionate people that separately possess skills when combined create a great partnership.
My (Amy) turangawaewae is Tauwhare Marae, located approximately 12km from Hamilton, within the Ngati Haua rohe. I (Amy) was bought up, where Tikanga/Customs, Te Reo/language, and Kawa/Protocol, was an integral part of my life.
In 2009 my partner of five years was laid off from his employment leaving the couple in a bind as her daughter (3 of 3) was only five months old. As a way of making ends meet, I(Amy) began making harakeke earrings and pendants and visiting workplaces selling her wares. From there we have progressed slowly into the business we have built up today.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I purchased 3 pairs of earrings in December 2020 as xmas presents for members of my family. 2/3 of my order was correct, but one pair of earrings was not what I ordered and were also cheaper. I sent an email about this and received no reply. I messaged the business on Facebook to get advice on what could be done - message was seen, but no reply. Finally, I sent one last email and just asked for a refund in price difference - but again, no response. I'm disappointed in the way my issue has been ignored and this is my first experience with a jewellery business that has not tried to rectify their mistake. There was one other time my online order was incorrect when I received it, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt and didn't do anything about it. This time it mattered because the earrings were an xmas present for my mother. Based on Amy P's unprofessional handling of my order issue, I will not be purchasing from this business again.

The steel used doesn't hurt ears or leave black/green marks as cheaper metals would ,& is everything that is advertised. Most of my purchases were for gifts & feel really special to give. Well worth the great prices.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I paid +$100 for a heru. It was somehow stained red. I asked to return it for a refund. They said once the heru is returned they would make a refund ASAP. 4 days after confirmation of heru being returned I still hadn't received a refund. After multiple emails with no reply I rang the store and was told I'd receive it that night, I didn't. One week from them receiving heru, still no refund made or correspondence. Looking through my emails I found they still owe me a refund for a product I bought from them in 2019. I purchased an item for $50 and was told "we don't actually sell that anymore" I trusted they had made the refund, they hadn't. The worst thing is the lack of communication. I'm being lied to and ignored. Poor service.
