Contract carried on past the year, I signed up for. I had to personally, physically close the account. After some time I was caught with an unexpected bill. I explained this, they did agree to half the bill. I still thought there wasn't enough communication on their behalf. Great equipment, unfortunately I was treated unfairly.

Had a situation where a credit company contacted me saying I owed over $500 to anytime . I'm upset that I had no prior knowledge or warning that I owed money. On my part, I had notice my yearly subscription was up but didn't realise I had to personally close it myself, but Anytime Fitness gave no notice of this,no letter no emails, nothing, I heard it from the credit company with a final notice bill. Anytime Fitness took money out of my account all over the place. $10 here, $50 there, if the agreed amount of money was to be taken out weekly for the subscription then I wouldn't of been put in the situation I was in. Next time I would love to be notified.

I was a member of Anytime Fitness Whangarei for almost more than a year. I wanted to cancel my membership after completion of 12 months lock period. So I visited their gym and requested for cancellation. Instead of cancelling my membership their trainer suggested that "keep the membership in hold for 3 months and after 3 months if you wish to restart we can reactivate your membership. We will take your approval before reactivating the membership". Approval is because fees was directly deducting from my bank account. Recently when 3 months are over, without taking my approval they have reactivated my membership and deducted 48$ from my account. When I questioned this, with their gym manager and owner they directly told me "you should have read the procedure for cancellation and according to that, you should have given a written letter for cancellation". My question to them, isn't their trainer is responsible for this? When I requested for cancellation it was his duty to either cancel the membership or give a proper guidance, did he do any of it? Is this is a professional ethics? Be careful before registering with them!

Member of Anytime for years tried to cancel during covid, they would not let us cancel even though the contract was out of term. Took about a week to respond to emails and would not provide information requested (contract, legal firm who provided the contract advice) took money out of our account anyway even though we did not agree with Matts cancellation policy interpretation, nobody has replied to our last email - two weeks later. Has always been terrible and rude customer service but if you can ignore the staff the equipment is good. Made calls to other gyms nationally who had no issue with cancelling memberships during lockdown. Hope you are well during these strange times. Thanks for the email query in regards to wanting to cancel down your membership. With current government restrictions in place we are looking at re-opening the gym once Level 2 is announced. Part of your membership obligations includes a 30 day notice period in which you are still required to keep your payments up to date. So with that in mind what we would look at doing is starting that notice period once Level 2 is announced. That way you have the option of using the gym while your notice period is carried out. Although you might not recognize it all the renovations that we've had going on :) Hope that all makes sense and look forward to seeing you in the gym once Level 2 hits :) Warm Regards Matt Manager

Staff is friendly but the gym is hot, not very clean and has old equipment. Been to better Anytimes.

This club has the best selection of equipment I've come across in a budget gym. Toilets and showers always thoroughly cleaned. Staff aren't pesky. Good coffee shop onsite

I'm 50+ and this is my first time looking for a gym in approx 30yrs.....Matt was able to see me the same day I rang. Matt was very welcoming and knowledgeable making me feel secure about choosing this gym for a 12 month investment in me and my health. I love its available for my use 24/7. The facilities and equipment look great. So now let the work begin....
