β β β β β Aoraki Mount Cook National Park is known as a home of the highest mountains and the longest glaciers in New Zealand (NZ). Visiting this incredible place was our way of spending NZ's summer. It's my most favorite place in NZ as it offers incredible sites such as flowers, mountains, lakes, glaciers. We stayed in backpackers place in Lake Tekapo and it took us more than 1 hr drive to get to the Mt Cook village. There is always museum, hotel and some good views in the visitors center. I'd also recommend that you check hiking tracks in Summer to explore the place like Hooker Valley, etc.

β β β β β Stunning 360β’ views all around. Perfect for a winter or summer adventure holiday. Many great hotels/motels in the area. Heaps of short and long walks. Would recommend.

β β β β β Must do. Very impressive landscape with a lot of glaciers. Hooker valley track is one of the most popular and interesting too l3h return). There are some more hikes but not so nice. I don't try the Mullers hut (8h return - and/or overnight stay in the hut with previous booking)

β β β β β Amazing location with dramatic mountains, a large range of easy to very hard climbs available and the hut facilities are great. Limited mobile reception once you're in the hut and important to know what you're getting into in terms of weather. The winds, snow, rain and sun can change very quickly so best check with local guide's or the department of conservation websites for safety. Quite a few avalanches whilst I was there in spring. (Like 10+ per day on various slopes - some small, some bigger)

β β β β β Great little campsite. Beautiful scenery from your site. Clean toilets and lots of picnic tables to use. Showers would be great at this campsite.
The walks in the area are well worth your time and doable for the whole family.

β β β β β The white horse campground is a parking lot with toilets nothing more. The worst camp lve been to. Rocks everywhere making it difficult to park a larger caravan or motorhome
