About Arahoe School
Arahoe School first opened with four classrooms in 1958 to provide for the growing urban population, between New Lynn and Green Bay. During the subsequent years our school has grown considerably.
Arahoe School has always been a contributing school catering for students in the first six years of their schooling. Entry to the school is open to all students. While the majority of children enrolled are drawn from the areas immediately surrounding the school, a significant number do travel from outside our natural catchments areas to attend. The school draws from a diverse community who are incredibly supportive of their children and of the school.
At the heart of our school are people. Our school community is a vibrant, dynamic and supportive one. Examples of this can be found in our talented Board of Trustees, our highly professional staff and that which makes us unique, our wonderful students. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went to this school when I was younger, and remember clearly staff not treating me well because some days I wouldn't be at school. Completely my parents fault yet when I went to school I was treated like dirt basically. Now I have family who go there, and I hear nothing but bad stuff. Rude and judgemental staff. Asking kids questions about their home life. My best friend is also a teacher and says the behaviour from this school towards my family is unacceptable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This school was absolutely terrible at there education. Sure we learnt the basics, but it has hardly prepared me for anything in Intermediate. I they also act so serious about bulliing in the school, but when there is a report, hey do absolutely nothing. The school needs so much adjustments its self and the fact that they spent 3 grand on shade sales! And not for a small pathway the seniors needed for the building. Everyone slipped down it and ended up hurt. We also have to sit on a cold floor in the hall for assembly. And I still cannot believe how bad the education was. I ended up only ever learning from 2 years of maths tuning. The school would expect us to know everything once they only review us on times tables. Never EVER enroll your children in this school.
