About Aroha Helicopters
He, as most pilots have, has always had a passion for aviation and in particular, helicopters, as a result going straight into flight training after high school and gaining his licence in 2013 at the age of 19.
Matt is our junior instructor who attained his instructors rating in the second half of 2020 as a bit of a career change, a new challenge and an opportunity to impart some of his knowledge onto the next generation of pilots.
Most of Matts over 2,000 hours of flight time has been predominantly gained with tourism operators in New Zealand and Australia, flying a variety of helicopters in some of the most beautiful places both countries have to offer, from R44’s over the Great Barrier Reef and onto white sandy beaches in Queensland, too AS350 Squirrels up to the glaciers in the stunning Mount Cook national park.
And as a keen amateur aviation photographer he’ll take some profile picture worthy photos to show off from your first solo.
