★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow! What a find. Never mind all the activity stuff (looks great) the cafe, Battersea, is the best in Christchurch. Food, coffee...the best. Spacious, modern, bright, clean. Chatty staff. Chess game, computers, newspaper.. and loads more. Go there!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Must try the Natter Cafe - it's open to the public! The food served here reminds me of an elevated Gold Coast cafe. The setting is minimalist and the outlook is rather tranquil with the fruit/vege garden and resident's courtyard. It's got that sanctuary-esque vibe. As it primarily caters to the rest home residents, the prices are very reasonable for (a) the amount and (b) the quality. Best Caeser salad in town. The croutons are even topped off with mozzarella.
