★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stunning river to have a swim in, skip stones and just chill. I would however keep a very close eye on any children that are playing in the water, sounds obvious but I did notice other parents being a little blasie about watching their tamariki. I'm a strong swimmer and I found parts of the river were very fast moving and there would be no way my youngest (7 yo) who can swim would be able to cope with the speed of the current. I'm sure it changes all the time like all rivers. The river was crisp and clean. So fun and so beautiful!!
