★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the best Kadai diish I have ever tasted, in South Island. Prices are reasonable. Food quality is great. Flavours are yummy. Their location is a bit hidden off the road, but if you are in a mood for Indian food in Alex, definitely Ashoka is the restaurant for you. I have tried the other Indian Restaurant in Alex and I wouldn't even try it again. Whereas Ashoka's food I can eat every other day. Highly recommended to Indian food lovers.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really disappointed. We've been coming here for years and it's always been delicious and full of flavour. The last 2 times we've ordered takeaways, it had been as if the curry paste and spices had been left out. Even the naan tastes dried out and old, not fresh. It's too expensive to risk another meal so I'm afraid we wont be back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a wonderful dinner here as a family. The environment is warm and inviting. The staff were very friendly and helpful, coped very well with being surprised by a large booking.
The food was excellent. Most of our table had goat and everyone loved it.
The staff catered to a real mix of ages from senior to toddler very well.
