★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Plenty of ATMs in the village. Pharmacy, Kiwibank and NZ Post in same shop, so crowded at certain times. Very efficient staff though and comprehensive stock. Something for everyone, same as the adjacent variety store. Flaxmere is well served with services, 'junk food' and 'stuff'. Lovely large park with kidspace across the road. The library & community centre are set back from shops with a large entrance through the shop area, where there are public bore water taps, or up separate driveway beside public pool, climbing wall and sports areas, out onto Swansea Road again. A great little village 'spoilt' by the carpark in the middle. Being enlarged as at August 2019. Definitely needs more parking unfortunately ?.
