SHAME ON YOU AUCKLAND CITY HOSPITAL Oncology Patients (cancer patients) are made to go through the main building doors and line up with everybody else (immuno-compromised vulnerable people) and walk (yes walk there are NO wheelchairs available for these very very sick people) all the way round to Oncology, because ADHB won't pay a security guard to stand on the door and screen the patients and whanau into the building.

Super friendly and helpful staff. Navigation around the wards/rooms can be challenging as poorly sign posted. Car parking can be at a premium during busy periods.

At 1st this Hospital is like a maze, but once we figured it out it was fine, during the week days they have people situated at the entrances of the building available to help. We were very satisfied with the care and treatment that was given, shout out to ward 83 neurosurgery unit, 99% of the staff were amazing, the 1% need training on patient care and to learn empathy

Visited this hospital level 5 this morning for a medical test, only to see a fat female security (likely to be Pasigika) rudely explaining about hospital entrance to another person. The visitor likely walked to the wrong entrance only to be belittled by unprofessional worker. Well I am leaving since I do not appreciate aggressive staff members.

My partner went in to the emergency department and they thought he was drunk. He couldn’t breath and almost collapsed to the floor. There was a white nurse who was a “senior” from my suprise couldn’t find a vain to take bloods so poked my partner 5 times. She got frustrated right infront of us thst she couldn’t do it and mind you my partner was in so much distress that he looked at me scared that something was wrong. She just tossed everything aside and handed it over to Gary the nurse who was honestly what you need in the ED. Gary was doing everything right and saying everything right where my partner calmed down. The same nurse who couldn’t help my partner comes back to our room to find Gary and ask him to help her Koz she couldn’t help the patient next to us for some reason. Gary left to help her and returned back to us. I was not going to go home unless I spoke to the charge nurse. I understand during covid everyone in the medical field have been over worked and We appreciate you so much. But I will advise that when a patient who comes in distressed please be mindful and treat them with the same respect you will show a white person. When my partner first foot there no one offered to help him. A nurse came to him ask what was wrong and walked away. When I spoke to the charge nurse who is white btw about how we felt discriminated she was oblivious to the fact there had been any sort of discriminatory actions have ever been taking place in that hospital. I mean read the reviews ?. You guys need to stop discriminating people of colour and treat everyone the same. Also your security are clueless. I asked a gaurd where the emergency parking was he said he didn’t know. Please train your staff so the patients don’t suffer.

Recently gave birth to my first baby here and had a smooth experience. The birthing unit was great with all the facilities you need. Midwife was very knowledgeable and a great coach through the birth process. Afterwards the nurses who took care of me and baby were very attentive too and provided useful advice on breastfeeding, although some of their opinions conflicted with each other. Also waiting for final things to get done for the baby can take quite a bit of time but that was kind of expected considering they weren’t urgent. Only other thing is the food they provide is not yum at all so suggest bringing your own

Amazing staff at the labour and birthing suite. Helpful, compassionate, educational just all the great things that make the pain of giving birth so much more easier. Anna Ramsey was amazing as well as all the midwives there that helped me get through. This is my 3rd baby and this was for sure the Best birthing experience to date.
