I would recommend the Auckland Free Walking Tour. Its a great way of knowing the city & the country. I happen to be there on Jonathan's (guide) last day. He was very good & explained in detail about New Zealand's history.

Very nice little tour which goes through the northern Part of Auckland. It is easy to walk and the guides are very nice people. Bring some cash and tip the guides, they put a lot of efford into the tour and they also have a lot of knowledge about the city and New zealand in general.

I went in this tour this morning. Out tour guide Griffin was full of fun, energy and with lots of information for us. We headed to different spots and learnt little stories about these places. I would have crossed these spots many times, but I never actually noticed these spots. Griffin took us around and also gave us information about some good restaurants and bars in the area. He also sang us a Maori and English song at the end of the tour. Would highly recommend! Cheers

Excellent walking tour of Auckland today with knowledgeable and entertaining guide Marty. The tour lasted about 2.5-3 hours and started at the top of queen street by the ferry building and ended at Britomart. The tour covers mainly on the areas of the north eastern part of the city centre, including the ferry building, Albert park, Lorne street, Vulcan lane and fort street. Loads of information and tips of where to eat and drink in Auckland and good things to do. I also learned a lot about New Zealand history, heritage and culture including the Maori, sports, traditions, flora and fauna, politics and language. I highly recommend to do this tour on your first day in Auckland (or NZ) to get a good base guide for the rest of your stay. Thanks again to Marty for sharing all your knowledge and giving us a good laugh along the way! A great way to spend an afternoon!

That was AWESOME!! I've been to many waking tours before and this time, I was VERY impressed with Catherine... She's a proud kiwi who's truly knowledgeable yet sensitive about her country, her land and the ancestral lands we now call New Zealand. I was particularly touched by her respectful approach to Maori history and her commitment to help us understand it and appreciate it. Truly recommend this as a worthy introduction to this beautiful land! Kudos!

Nobody showed up this 10am to take the tour at the times stipulated on their website. Their website should be updated to reflect the times the tour actually runs, especially if they have reduced their running frequency post-covid.
