★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Checked kids through Jetstar and we travelled home with AirNZ a day later. What a stark difference. AirNZ process was smooth, easy and really helpful staff. Jetstar quite the opposite. Owe my kids an apology lol. Nice airport, clean, well laid out, lots of facilities. Very pleasant indeed. A great gateway to NZ ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice and clean but did not want to spend several hours in the early morning (3am till 5am) sitting on floor or chairs after flight diverted from Christchurch. Having to wait till domestic terminal opened at 5am. No food or drink options available and limited seating. Not a great place to be stuck while trying to stay safe and healthy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Its not everyday you see international airport empty like this. Almost all the shops amd restaurant closed. If you are flying from domestic, get your food there as restaurant here closed during this review was written even McDonald's and KFC's. As you near to your check in time, you will see civilization rose again ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Generally, I like this airport as it was clean and organized. But for an international airport, it is not big enough. I believe it can still be expanded given the growing number of tourists in NZ. I do commend the authority for setting up free water refilling station to discourage people from buying bottled water.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was a disgrace to be called an International Airport. Everything closed staff were rude snarling at people at 5am. Stool at a wired fence like cattle waiting to be opened to go to plane no seating for anyone to sit except the floor. Nothing opened anywhere. I was ashamed for the visitors everyone was declaring never to use Auckland airport again. Auckland you need to go and learn how to treat people from the ChCh Airport so much more friendly as in staff seating availability eateries etc. Covid will go but horrible Auckland Airport won't be forgotten.
