★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In the interests of transparency and the well being of all of our children, we would like to share that we have removed our 3 year old from Glen Innes Kindy due to him being targeted by a much older larger child for repeated hitting, pushing, and threatening behaviour.
The teaching staff elected not to share this with us. When our son became scared to go to kindy and suffered significant emotional difficulty due to this we approached kindergarten staff to protect him. We were told the bully would be shadowed to keep our 3 year old safe so we elected not to withdraw him. The Kindy has admitted shadowing never happened.
The Kindy has apologised to us. However they have not been able to adhere to a number of their own safety procedures with regards to our son and we are looking into taking this further as 3 year olds deserve to be kept safe and we trusted this kindy with the safety of our son.
If your child attended last term and prior they were probably also subjected to abuse. Please watch your child for any signs.
