""I was chosen to be apart off the Auto Super Shoppes Academy this year, from 15th January until 6th April and am glad I was. I am thrilled that I did get this opportunity for the 12 weeks that it was, learning items that I had no idea existed or very little knowledge about. I had a pleasure being a student under Rob Humpherys guidelines. I was being continuously impressed by the knowledge that he brought and shared with us over the time being. The mixture between the workshop and the theory side, didn't just show that it was just going to be paperwork each and every day but got to see how to do it hands on inside the workshop. During the year of 2017 I did the Level 3 automotive Course at NorthTec for 9 months in Whangarei and that gave me little knowledge about how the car items work and what they are, but you always had to be in pairs so when it came to the workshop, you would've had no idea what to do by yourself, whereas this course, Rob teaches you how to do it in the classroom (without any hands on just being focused on how that component works and how to fix it) then lets you, by yourself, go in the workshop and attempt it, hands on.
He'll always come and check on you, or always give you a random idea of how to do it without physically telling you how, he’ll let you do it by yourself so you can learn the hard way and let you struggle as a bit of fun but it also teaches you how to do it without asking him. The entire 12 weeks weren't all serious, we had a lot of laughs amongst the class- near enough every hour or so of a day. Rob’s teaching taught me that everything has to has a joke every now and then. Which makes it fun! It's been an incredible 12 weeks here at the Auto Super Shoppe Academy, not only have I learnt something but learnt that this is a good environment to be within. The first day I arrived at the course I was shy as I didn't know anyone. During the 12 weeks Rob actually brought me out of my shell. And now I’m not shy around most people now. It has opened so many different opportunities having both Rob as a guide and getting the opportunity to go places within the Auto Super Shoppes' shops and see the real life of what mechanics do and do a bit of hand ons in the proper workshops. Guaranteed offer of employment upon graduation has landed me a job within John Andrew Mazda in Grey Lynn. Massive step but couldn’t have done it without the support from Rob and his team! Wof inspector for 20 years (Retired) top service very friendly staff .Don't waste time on a cheap wof get it done by professional and friendly staff like this place 10 out of 10.

No idea why they have 5 start reviews. Should be named Auto Super Shyte Judging by other reviews, they are not good with electronics or sensors. They took an insurance booking to repair one of my vehicles, a W168 A160 for attempted theft, the most obvious and visible damage was a damaged ignition barrel for an old Mercedes A160. They replaced the ignition barrel, and realised to re-aligned my wheels. Now here is where it gets messy, they broke the steering angle sensor while replacing the ignition barrel, which caused the wiring system and the sensor management systems to misread errors. Mercedes are known to show multiple error readings caused by damage to a sensor in the system. They knew this, yet proceeded to "finish" the insurance repair job and hand it back to me with all the errors on the car, where the errors never existed prior to the insurance repair job. It was going to cost over $2000+ to have the car "diagnosed", the sales man then pursued to ensure and attempt to make me intimidated and feel dumb, by using jargon amd mechanical terms, little did he know, I am a car enthusiast, who has several cars and have fixed this car several times without failour. We went back a forth with me also responding to him, using mechinicial and engineering terms, he used the oldest tricks in the books, and spoke to the insurance company and avoided all of the negligent acts, by having the inspector deny further repairs. I'm sure AMI won't work with your recommended repairers for any future jobs. Especially for cars with a little more advanced systems. Good luck with hybrids and EVs. Scum, thirsty mechanics. Overly aggressive and money hungry as usual.

Went for a wheel alignment 18 plus months ago.The alignment made my steering wheel shake which it didn't do previously. Talked me into 2 new tryes as he said they had flat spots.BS.Still shook with new tyres.On completion of that rip-off he advised that the front left shock absorber needed replacing.I asked would it pass a wof.He said no.I have had 3 cofs which are more stringent than a wof and there has been no fault picked up.Another example of trying to rip off a customer.All smiles at the found desk but a really dishonest operator from my experience.

Went in for a warrant of fitness, listed on the website as $59. The car spent a day at the shop, after which I got a call saying some more work needed doing. I told them not to do any work, as I wanted to consider my options, and went to pick up the car. I was charged $97, for the cost of them simply identifying problems during the course of the WOF. Surely this should be covered in a WOF, and my request not to do any work would leave me with a bill up to but not greater than the listed $59. Feeling ripped off, and won't be returning.

I mentioned that car pick up will on the same day. However, when I reach at 1700, the workshop was closed when stated closing time is 1730. Moreover, no one call me on follow up if I was coming to take the car before they closed. Car repair prices always amounted over the listed package pricing. It always seem that extra work or parts needs to be done or replaced. I usually never complain due to the approximately near my home for past 7 years. Once again I sent my car for WOF, the workshop fail my car as they mentioned that there were brakes imbalance and quote me near $200+ in order to pass WOF. I almost agree with this advice just to let them finish the repair since I used them for years. Recalling all my previous services and their poor customer service, i rejected the repair despite paying for the full WOF payment even though my WOF fail. When I went to another workshop for first time, they checked and confirm the car is perfect and there is no brakes imbalance issues at all. MY WOF passed with no issue. I felt cheated all these years as they always find faults on my cars during service packages and also WOF. I always end up paying a lot extra. A loyal customer feeling stupid now. I will never go back again for such a company whom never treasure good customers.
