★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent day out.The owner guide Paul was fantastic well set up and organized but relaxed which made the day a fun experience, you not only get to drive your own rail car 20kms and back but you get to feed chickens and ducks along the way and alittle bush walk set up along with an outside camp with belly tea, coffee or Milo and biscuits but with a group a sausage sizzle could be arranged also a proper toilet while at the tea break and I won't spoil it but there are a few surprises along the way. 5 star + thanks Paul I had a fantastic day out. ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Congratulations Paul and Eve. You have given us a wonderful experience. Wasn't really sure if this was my thing but we gave it a go. Just fabulous. follow the old rail tracks in a redesigned golf cart through the untouched landscape. Drive through some areas that very few get to see. The bush walk through to the gumboot bridge. Meeting Lucky( go and find out) and feeding the chicks and ducks. Then fill the billy and enjoy a snack and a tea or coffee and chat with new friends before the drive back. I'm an ex pat. Paul is a wealth of knowledge and it was great to learn more about the native trees and plants here in NZ. We drove home smiling after our day. Thank you. We wish you both all the best and will see you again in November

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I'd driven past this a few times and finally got chance to visit.
Being a bit of a Railway buff I knew it would be up my street and I certainly wasn't disappointed.
You do few stops along the way one of which is the beautiful bushwalk, which takes around twenty minutes at a nice gentle pace on easy walking terrain.
There is also the Chicken Stop, I'd not fed Chickens for years and forgotten how entertaining they can be; and a half hour or so at the stunning Forest Bach for tea and biscuits.
All on all I thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing and I think it would appeal to pretty much everyone.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a very informative, enjoyable and delightful adventure! Our guide was clear and concise with his safety discussion conditions, incredible in his story telling, and relaxing and friendly in his cup of tea making, and the rail journey itself was also delightful and enjoyable!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A fun family experience. Paul is fantastic and makes it extra special for the kids. You get to feed the chickens, ducks and swans. Stop in for a cuppa and some biscuits and enjoy the beautiful scenery as you pass through local farms!
