Baan Thai Cuisine - Restaurant,Takeaway & Delivery - Hamilton Central
Unusual for me. This place fell so short of what it could have been. I came because the mussel entree had been recommended to me and indeed the taste was excellent. They were served in the half shell, with a delicious sauce tasting of white pepper rather than the more common chili. However, the serving dish was designed for 6, but the portion was 5. That empty spot detracted from the appearance. One of my mussels was served with no shell...apparently it had fallen out. I carelessly overlooked the implied warning and then struggled with 4 more that were firmly attached to the shell. I hope the resulting sauce stains on my shirt front will come out. The traditional selection of entrees was OK, although at least two had been fried too long, but unexceptional. The pork ribs didn't seem very Thai, but were certainly very tasty. The sauce having those black pepper overtones mentioned earlier. I would certainly eat here again...but I would not take an important guest,

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wonderful atmosphere and a place we frequent regularly. Meals are decent portion sizes and very tasty. I had Bhan Thai Steak and really enjoyed it, my wife and in-laws had chicken meals which was a bit on the dry side.
Service was excellent and very friendly. Definitely a place to visit and fill up the tummy with yummy food that is also very healthy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Order Pad Thai chicken through Menulog. It's arrived late and I expected tasty food. Turn out it was just a little of chicken and the chicken is kinda sma, has no taste of pad Thai sauce. Never order again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ordered a curry and pad Thai. Curry was nice except we ordered Lamb but were given chicken. Pad Thai was the most bland pad Thai we’ve ever had. Maybe because we ordered close to closing time. Disappointing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Experience was ok. Food taste was good for some and ok for others. Prices are a little steep for the quality of food. Some dishes are better than others. Overall 3/5. We had spicy prawn. Pad Thai (their version) although had to reorder as the noodles were stale. Repeat were fine. Prawn rice which the waitress thought v had 10 orders although we ordered 5. So had extra but paid for it. Overall recommend to try once.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pad thai was alright but the seafood mix was awful. I ordered it through Uber eats and I must say the price vs the quality is just not there. Prawn was raw, as in just unfrozen and thrown into the mix, mussels were bitter and definitely not worth it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was absolutely terrible. I went there with 3 other friends. The restaurant looked authentic but it was actually not. Our table looked like it was cleaned ages ago. Their Thai foods tasted very different to what I had experienced before. Pad tai had only one flavour which was literally sweetness. Tom yum soup did not taste like tom yum (maybe 20% Tom yum and 80% tasted like something else). We made a complain but the boss said it is because the chef sometimes cannot tell between salt and sugar. I'm sorry but I cannot recommend this restaurant to others.
