★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a great experience with these guys - needed a car ASAP and other companies were way too expensive on such short notice ... just Google searched and found Bargain Rental Cars, super easy to book a car and then pick up/drop off was no fuss! Car worked great, and staff were friendly and helpful! Definitely coming back if I need a vehicle fast in the future!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I booked online at 6:00 PM Thursday, a touring vehicle the total cost of which was $100. Approx. 6 PM.
I received an email half an hour later saying that the booking had been confirmed but they could not confirm that vehicle at that point.
I turned up at bargain car rentals on the Friday morning, in Sunnybrae Rd to be told that they had sent me another email and the car wasn't available but they did have a car available that was $300. I went online and found , indeed yes I had been sent an email at 6:52 AM saying that they had this vehicle available .
Only the $300 vehicle was available.
Simply when you're standing in front of someone with your bag having been dropped off you have no option but to spend the $300. No time or inclination to look elsewhere
I was informed I had to pay for 3.5 full days because I had the vehicle from 8:00 AM Friday to 10 am Monday and the extra 2 hours was .5 of a day. Can't figure that out .
The car was back at 10 am Monday.
Then ….I then hopped on the car drive off, when loading in family, I found a used face mask in the back door pocket of the car. Really….
Yahoo..I've used Bargain rentals before they will never use them again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nowhere on this company’s website did it say that the rental car would be a second-hand Japanese import, 10-years old, and 103,480km on the clock. We had paid in advance for the Toyota Prius and had no choice but to take it with all its scratches and dents. We used it for two weeks and it got us from Auckland to Wellington. However, it juddered badly at slow speed. The controls were in Japanese and the ‘voice’ occasionally spoke to us in Japanese. It could have been a warning message. How would we know?
Yes, it was cheap to rent but in future we will pay more and get a decent car.
