Tararua Health Group provides primary healthcare services to the large rural district of Tararua situated in Southern Hawkes Bay on the East Coast of New Zealand. We are a large organisation delivering GP care, hospital services, nurse-led clinics and community nursing from over five sites.
Our vision is to provide "rural healthcare at its best" by:

Our staff, over 120 in number, work in a model of care which is multi-disciplinary, integrated and caring. There is a diverse range of health professionals including GPs, nurse practitioners, specialist nurses, practice/rural hospital nurses, allied health staff and management. The organisation is clinically-led with extensive input from all scopes of practice.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Receptionists have a terrible attitude, Bronwyn in particular. Shocking practice with unacceptable wait times. I have been here numerous times and never had a good experience. If you can go to P North or a surrounding practice I would strongly recommend it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been to this doctor many times as it is the only one in Dannevirke. If I could give it a negative I would. My family has been installed by doctors and my grandmother got put in harm's way because the on call doctor didn't want to come in. You can't get an appointment for 2 weeks. The only amazing doctor is about to leave and she will be very missed.

Sometimes we cant meet everyones needs or keep everyone one happy but i am proud of the service we provide. Great team who really do have the patients best interest at heart.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tried to call them on s Saturday during the open hours (10am-12pm) and couldn't get hold of them needed to get a prescription that was ment to be done on Thursday. Apart from having the same problem every month they are great.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sad to see the negative reviews. I have been a local for 10 years and have always had very positive experiences with the hard working staff. I am sure they do the best that they can with the resources that they have. The only negative experience I have had at the health centre is listening to grumpy patients giving staff a hard time while awaiting my appointment.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ All appointments I have made have always been running late at least 15 to 45mins after booked times. Saw a nurse today and thought she could use some more training in people skills, has put me off going back to see a nurse in future.Will be signing up to a doctors in Palmerston North from now on.On a positive side the reception ladies are always lovely and welcoming and waiting area is always clean and tidy.
