★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you love live theatre or have just always wanted to check it out then go see a show at the Basement. An eclectic mix is always on the cards with a cute theatre space and upstairs studio. Ticket prices are always reasonable and a drink at the bar is essential. Weekends often have a party vibe after shows with dj's playing. Great staff and brilliant shows, what more could you ask for? Go enjoy the family vibe and don't forget to grab some food from the bao truck, delicious!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great venue for fringe theater with a bar on site and a dumpling truck out front. The bar serves a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks including cocktails. Toilets were clean and tidy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent performances from talented local artists, the magnificent theatre and casual bar are perfect for all of your evening entertainment needs. Offers a yearly subscription for attending multiple shows a year and creates a community out of its audiences. A must-go for the true Auckland Central experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A nice small theatre. The studio is tiny, and tend to be quite hot even on winter. Paid parking are a hit and miss depending on the day. The entrance is quite tricky to find as it's not the the main road, but at the back of the building instead. The lounge has an interesting decor and friendly bartender. The ticket locket is like a pigeon hole next to the door to the studio/stage.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Small but cute theatre. Have been to both the upstairs and downstairs theatres and they both have a good vibe. Upstairs is by far smaller and looks like a half converted loft space (which I guess it is). Bar is cool with an outside food trailer usually there to cater snacks. We were there to see Brendan Green (and guests) last time which was awesome :)
