★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Complete rip-off. They quoted me $8,964 for hearing aids, I could get the exact same aids from a competitor for $5,975 (both prices include the MOH subsidy). Moreover, I could get an equivalent aid from this competitor for $3575 (that's 60% less)!
Bay Audiology say they are "NZ's largest independent hearing care service provider." Market economics says that larger providers have more purchasing power and therefore lower costs, but these guys seem to be the most expensive in NZ. The day after my appointment I saw my audiologist driving to work in a company car, so by overcharging you for your hearing aids they are lining their own pockets and giving their staff company cars. Do you really want to pay for that?
When I went to the competitor, I got a more professional and comprehensive hearing test than at Bay Audiology Hamilton. Competitor had a testing booth that isolated me from noise outside the room, and had a wider range of hearing tests to check my hearing in different situations. Competitor's hearing aids ALL connect to Bluetooth, but Bay Audiology told me that only the Elite and Super models can connect to Bluetooth.
Don't purchase here, shop around and save yourself thousands of dollars.
